Demonstration Ad Serving System

Welcome to the demonstration ad serving system. This is a fully functional ad serving system with a limited user interface designed to give you an idea of what is possible in a mobile ad serving platform.

There are three sections:

  1. Example Ads - Each call to the contextual ad system causes it to try to understand the meaning and topic of the page the ad is on. Once it has determined a relevant topic for the page, it serves an appropriate ad, or a random ad if the topic cannot be determined. Here you will find examples of ads inserted into various pages taken at random from Wikipedia. You'll notice the ad system correctly identifies the relevant ad to insert into the page. (Note that occasionally another ad will be rotated in -- even if it is not relevant -- to fulfill delivery quotas and maintain freshness of the page. This feature can be turned off if you like.)
  2. Ad Reporting - A simple table of active ads and their counts of impressions and clicks. Once an ad is served, the impression count for that ad is incremented, accurately recording delivery for the advertisement. When an ad is clicked on, the click is correctly recorded as well. This example ad reporting system only allows you to see advertisements and their counts of impressions and clicks, but by viewing the ads from the examples page and clicking on them, you can watch as these numbers are updated in realtime.
  3. Publisher Codes - Here you can get an example publisher code to test the ads out on your own web page. Simply copy the HTML code from this page and insert it into a web-page to watch as the system correctly identifies the most relevant keywords for your site, and serves the ad containing those keywords. For best results, insert the code into a page related to a topic in the keywords list of the ad you'd like to see. Consult the ad reporting page to view keywords for each ad.

The ad serving system has been tested in Internet Explorer and Firefox on Windows Vista, and in Firefox and Opera on Mac OS X Leopard. Although this system is far from complete, it should give you an excellent idea of what is possible. Once you are done reviewing the demo system, please return to Rentacoder and contact Max California to discuss beginning work on the project.

Thank you,
